Hey when i drive a short distance or even far distance and stop and get out of the trooper i smell this burning smell and its coming from the car. It seems like somethings burning on the exhaust manifold or pipes dont know. Any one have any ideas?

 

Just encountered something similar on my 96. No smoke, smelly, and kind of "oily residue" in engine compartment. No dripping anywhere.
Problem: Pin sized hole in power steering line.
Detection: Raised hood, started vehicle, had another person observe while I turned wheels lock to lock.
Solution: Replace power steering high pressure hose; about $60.00 on my vehicle. Very painful and time-consuming for me to change, but I am no professional. HTH.

 

Hey thanks for the help. I might just have to change the whole power steering pump out cause i have to much play at my steering wheel.
