Default 95 Trooper Leaking Coolant

Hey guys my trooper overheated on me couple days ago but was fluctuating from hot then back to normal so i thought it was sticky thermostat. But ive also noticed theres coolant leaking from the back of the engine like badly but cant pin point where its coming from. Some one told me it could be that my freeze plugs need changing. The leaking was kind of on going cause i could smell it burning on the exhaust but now its just profusely leaking? Any help will be appreciated i need it running asap thanks

That could be a freeze plug or a blown head gasket.
Theres also a cam cover plug that was a recall item a while back
in that area but I dont believe coolant leaking was a symptom.

hey thanks for the help i dont think its a blown headgasket cause my coolant doesnt look milky its as green as it should be and plus i did a test to make it wasnt the headgasket so i think you are right about the freeze plugs im going to have to do that. Any help on how to change freeze plugs out or where they are located i was told i would have to remove my transmission
