Default 95 Trooper DOHC 4wd

Trooper brakes were going to the floor, stopping was possible but slow. Replaced master cylinder, seems better but not perfect...now seems fairly weak. Any suggestions? we did bleed them as the master cylinder had gone dry. I guess we will try to rebleed. Wondering about that ABS brake module thats in there....could that be the culprit?

Try bleeding them from the right rear, left rear, right front then drivers side front. That way you are sure to remove all of the air. Hopefully you have a pressuer bleeder. Does wonders and saves a lot of time and a second person is not needed. At the same time look for a leak. If master cylinder was leaking you would have seen where it was leaking from the rear of the master cylinder when you took it off of the booster.

Hope this helps.

I like the looks of that pressure bleeder but alas we bled them a bunch of times and still pedal goes to the floor...its very mystifying. There is so much going on with the brake system on the vehicle. So many components. thinking of switching out the master cylinder in case we got a bad one...since it was a reman. There is that abs hydralic box that connects to the master cylinder. not really sure what that does and i hate to start changing out everything....its gets a little expensive plus what a pain.

Not trying to be nosey but what area are you in. I am in Baltimore, Maryland. If close maybe I could help?? I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use a reman master cylinder!!! Ran into way too much grief using them. I doubt your problem is with the ABS. Anything is possible but I hardly believe that is your problem. Here is a old trick for you. Get a piece of hose that fits snugly over the bleeder and put it in a clear soda bottle that has been washed out and dried. Put about 1-2" of clean brake fluid in bottle and make sure hose is in the fluid. Open bleeder and pump pedal about 1/2 way over and over until no more bubbles. Then go to the next wheel etc. Always start from right rear etc.

Hope that helps.

Oh forgot. Pump master cylinder about 3 times before opening the bleeder. Close bleeder after each bleed. Make sure you pre bleed the master cylinder on the bench before installing it.

There, I think I am done

Hope all of this helps you stop!!!!
