Looking for a manly man who can tell me what is wrong with my tranny. For some months the transmission wouldnot shift upand I had to restart the car to make it work again. Lately, it simply will not shift (like I am in high gear and going nowhere - story of my life)The fluid is up and because turning the car off and on used to correct the problem I suspect it is electrical. Right? So, the question is? What is "electrical" about a transmission? Is it the computer? Thanks for any advise you can provide.

 

Hi FelineWarrior, Im new to this board. I just bought a clean 93 Trooper LS DOHC. Any way I am still cutting my teeth on izuzu''s, but Im thinking since the tranny is GM built and having worked on GM trannies in the past Im guessing if there are soleniods on the tranny, then that may be ur problem. Im planning on getting AllDIY online for the trooper, so I will look into it. Some times a good cleaning of the soleniods will cure ur up shift and down shift problems. I hope this helps..
