My 89 Trooper auto 4x4intermittantly wants to go directly to 3rd gear when you put it in drive. If you drop it down to low, it goes into first and then runs great...I just had a head gasket installed due to overheating. This problem has stumped the mechanic, he has replaced throttle position sensor, checked all contacts and wiring. He assures me its an electrical issue and not in the mechanics of the transmission.....Ive been without my trooper for months over this..PLEASE HELP !!!!!!
