I have a 99 Trooper with a 3.5L auto 4WD configuration that blew. I am willing to install a replacement engine, but I have seen some stories that this may not be an uncommon occurance. Before I spend $3,000 on a replacement short block, can anyone tell me if this is a very common problem or if it is rare? I really need to make a decision soon, so I would appreciate any info possible quickly.

Thanks!
