Default 1996 3.2 gas trooper wont start easily

Went on a 400 miles road trip. Trooper made it all the way there no sweat. The next day I went out to start it and It took me pumping the gas to get it going. Now the only way I can get it started is to push the pedal to the floor and hold it there until it starts. It will die after I let of the gas but I can keep it going if I goose the throttle for a few seconds. Thing is, after i get it started it will idle rough for about 5 to 10 seconds then just purr like a happy kitten. It drives just fine. No popping or stuttering. Still has plenty of get up and go. I dont get it.
replaced plugs
ran a bottle of lucas through with a tank of premium followed by another bottle of lucas
replaced fuel filter
replaced idle air control
replaced throttle position sensor

Im handy with a wrench and Id rather get a prostate exam from Brock Lesnar than take it to a dealer but Im at a loss here

That should take care of your problem as when you finally got it started it should have had black or dark grey smoke from the tail pipe with would have givien you a idea the FPR went on a holiday
