Unhappy 1988 2.6L Idleing Problems

Hey, I have an 1988 with a 2.6 and it will not idle when it gets warm. Once it gets warmed up, then the engine revs and then goes to idle, and so on and so on, until I either speed up, or shut it off. What could be the problem/s?

you need to clean your icv. or get a new one. they get gunked up overtime an sart to mess up. thus the idle cycling when warm.

quick note; before you do replace or clean it. take a moment to check your vac lines. could be a small intake leak causing that as well .but if your vac lines are good you know what to get after.

I found out what an ICV is; the Idle Control Valve. However, where is that particular item on the engine?

Default Not Yet, Rebuilding the Engine

No. I haven't fixed it yet. I am planning on getting that during my engine rebuild.
