I have a 1985 trooper witha 1.9L engine. Below the carburetor there is a mesh plate that has a positive and negative going to it. Is this a heater, or what purpose does it serve. Can I get rid of it to get better flow?

I''m not familiar with that specific engine or carb, but on the ''86-''87, there is a similar arrangement. It gets replaced when you put on a new Weber carb, which is absolutely the best thing you can do for performance and fuel mileage.

Search ebay for "isuzu weber" and you''ll always come up with some. Word of warning, tho'', the cheapest is that way for a number of reasons, and is NOT your best bet (voice of experience, here).
