I just purchased a Used 2004 Isuzu Rodeo. I only have the two keys that the car came with, I don't have the push button which unlocks the car. When I manually unlock the car and attempt to start the car sometimes it will disengage the starter, it appears to be a security cut off feature since I don't have the pushbutton unlocking device. I was wondering if you can offer any advice or have any solutions for this, do you know what it would cost to repair this problem, right now I can only get the Truck to start maybe 1 out of every 10 times that i try to turn the key, i have to take breaks in between as well and try to open and close the door.

Also I am thinking it might not be a security thing, instead a Starter issue... Any thoughts?

you can try to replace the ignition. i would to go the dealer and get a new ignition. my moms van was having this problem and we got a new ignition and now its all good. they make you a new key as well. its not going to be cheap though. best of luck!
