I dont know if you all are into the 4wheeling world, but i was wondering what is the largest tires I can run on a 96 rodeo just by cranking on the toursin bars? I have 225/75r16 now but i have a set of bfg mud terrians off my dodge that are 235/85r16 and they looklike they will fit but i see everyone does 3" lifts to get 33" on their rigs... any help?

They should fit without a lift. Gen 1 ('93-95) and gen 1.5 ('96-97) have larger wheel well openings then 2nd gen ('98+) rodeos. That second size you listed is about 32" diameter.

Here is a pic of a '97 with 265/75-16s which are about the same diameter but an inch wider. Not sure if this is before or after he lifted it 2" but he had the tires on before the lift with no problem..

Even with a lift you might need to trim the fender for 33s. The problem is the shape of the wheel opening. Wheel offset also effects it. Larger tires fit better with closer to stock backspacing. To fit 32's with aftermarket wheels I will need to trim my fender even with a 3" lift.
