Are there torsion bar bushings?

Are there torsion bar bushings?
Hi,
had a bad clanking noise under the drivers seat, though related to which way I put tension on the steering wheel - so it had to have something to do with the front suspension.
After reading up and coming across a lot of people having the same thing trouble with mechanics not being able to tell them what is making the noise I found the answer - tighten the (1-1/16'') bolt for the tension bar basically right under the seat. Well now I guess its cranked what you call all the up and the noise is almost gone except for in extreme bumpy situations so it actually is THAT - but I can't find any reference on torsion bar bushings or something!? And even if I find something like that - can I just unscrew that bolt and take the bar out or what happens then
And please don't tell me the noise actually comes from the sway bar cause it doesn't
cheers

Now after about 30mi of bad road the clanking has come back just as bad. So is there something at the end of the torsion bar (under the front seats so to speak) that can go bad? Obviously the tightening of the bolt helped for the moment but wasn't a fix ...

c'mon guys, nobody ever took out a torsion bar? what I wanna know right now is can I crawl underneath there, loosen the adjuster bolt and take the bar out or is it gonna come jump at me and I need a $400 loader tool to put it back in?
I wanna check the adjuster bolt for damage.
