Starting when Hot issues - please help!
Im desperately trying to avoid the dealership on this but Im running out of ideas.
99 Rodeo 3.2L 139K miles
Starts fine when cold, no issues when driving or idleling, runs fine and gets great mileage (20+ in town!).
After warmup and sits for about 2 or 3 minutes, starts up then dies. Have to restart with some accelerator pedal depressed, then idles fine.
Replaced the following:
- spark plugs
- Idle air control valve
- air cleaner
- fuel filter
Cleaned the following:
- EGR,
- Throttle body (did not remove),
- Sprayed carb cleaner in the MAP
NO ENGINE LIGHT EITHER AND NO DIAG CODES SHOW UP.
Any help appreciated.

found it
even though no one on this forum helped me with this particular problem, Im posting my fix anyway since I did consult this and other isuzu forums and have saved many $$ in repair costs and avoiding the dealership guantlet .....
I noiced fuel seeping into the vacuum line connected to the FPV (Fuel pressure valve) located near the firewall - driver side under a black bracket.
Apparently this was causing the die out after startup.
FPV - $45
Tool to remove the C-Clamp - $20.
If anyone wants more detals, let me know.
cheers.
