hey, im new here, but i do know a little about cars. going to universal technical institute in mooresville north carolina. i just bought a 96 rodeo about 2 mounths ago. it had a slight rawing noise in the trans in all gears but 4th. so i thought it was the bearing on the transfershaft cause 4th does not use that shaft for direct drive. so i then took a 500 mile trip and this thig was screaming at me. got half way home and only a slight noise was heard. like spinning a dry bearing in your hand. so i kept driving it, then lost 4th gear. then started to grind going into 3rd, then a loud thud, thud thud, while driving then nothing will work. will not move in any gear, and only makes any noise when the clutch is out. when its in it makes no noise, so i think it has to do something with the input or transfershaft. oh and it leaks now. so, will replacing the bad bearings fix the problem, or do i need to just get another one? please help, isuzu is new to me and i dont wanna screw myself, so i would really like a second opinion! thanks!

 

the other stuff i do not know about but it sounds like you eventualy blew out your inpute shaft bearing
