Hey has anyone had problem with their Rodeo (mines a 2000 LS) key not coming out.. Its like its stuck.. It will start right up but when I go to shut car off it will turn off but the key won't turn al the way so that I can pull it out.. I have to really mess with jiggling the shifter or sometimes the steering wheel--its so random at what it takes to get it to come out.. Any ideas what this is?? My ignition switch going bad or the solenoid?? I tried my spare which is not worn and it didn't make a difference. Thanks!!!

 

My 98 does this from time to time. Here's what I do, and I have yet to get it stuck and not get it back out! Step on the break and reposition the shifter into Park. Then try turning the steering wheel slightly while taking the key out. Works like a charm for me :-)

I do it with the car on or off, it doesn't matter! Good luck!

 

are you pushing the key in when you are taking it out to get it to lock the car?
