my rodeo starts but shut down a minute later and starts back up but wont stay start can anyone help me sme ideas after doing check i found it to be my i on module when i unplugg one side of it the car starts and run rough then i plug it back in then the car runs ok but when i turn of to restart it dont . i have to unplug ion module then start it then plug back in module can some one helpEdited by: lollypop

 

The problem should trigger your check engine light. Buy or borrow a cheap OBD II scanner and check your codes. It''ll most likely be a fuel related problem, i.e. fuel injectors, tps sensor, iac valve ect.


If it shuts off right away, if you recently lost your keys and replaced them right before this, your Rodeo may have an immobilizer system. If the BCM isn''t programmed to that key your car won''t stay running.
