I Need a Solution
2001 Rodeo LS 3.2 Engine......Gas guage read zero, had the fuel pump and sender replaced and the gauge read 1.2 lower than what it actually had. Had the sender rewired and the gauge went to Empty and stayed there. Replaced the sender and it still read Empty. Was told it was the ECM, so replaced it and the gauge still read Empty. Replaced the gauge cluster...yep..you guessed it...it still reads Empty.
To me, it indicates that the sender is not wired correctly, but the mechanic said he ran diagnostic test that say it is correct.
I am moving from Orlando to Colorado Springs next month, and would like a properly functioning gas gauge for the trip. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

SOLVED: It turned out to be a bad sending unit on the "brand new" fuel pump.
Now the vent is broken on the tank and it takes about 20 minutes to fill it, have to let the gas flow in super slow. Solution...get a new gas tank.
Anyone know of one available for reasonable cost and shipping?
