Help!! Sputter!!!
Hey every one. Man am i at my end with my rodeo. i have a 1996 rodeo with a 3.2, 2wheel drive, auto. the problem im having is i cant go over 2000 rpms without sputtering and loss of horse power. so if i put my foot in the gas it sounds and feels like it will die although it hasen't yet. i replaced the o2 censor and the mass air flow unit, but still the stall, what is wrong with my toy? I think it could have to do with the vacuum lines but not really sure. a diagram would be great. or any ideas would be great. feels like it is getting too much air or vice versa. the computer says it is running lean. do you think it could be a cataletic converter?

i have the same problem with mine except i have the 4wd 5speed manual. the "sputtering" in mine happens when the engine gets warm and yet it goes away when the car cools down. my guess is the header gasket or the cat like you said.

UPDATE: i changed my air filter and cleaned the mass air flow sensor(MAFsensor) with MAF sensor cleaner that i bought at kragens and my rodeo picks up better with accelerating and it doesnt sputter as much. Someone told me to replace the o2 sensor it might be burnt or dirty and is making the computer either riching or leaning your intake mixture making the car sluggish.
