theres alot of write ups on that. its the sending unit on the fuel pump assembly, happened to mine, took like an hour or 2 to drop the tank change it out and put it back up.

Same year here with same problem. Shops around here don't sell just the unit by itself. The ones I've seen on eBay look iffy. Where could I get one? Or who has gotten a good one off eBay. If so any recommendations?

Thanks

like mentioned in another post I got one of those 30 dollar ones from ebay, came in a plastic bag in an envelope, didn't look anywhere near official or legit but works fine ever since.
If you don't wanna mess with that the simplest fix would be a square inch of electric tape over the blinking light or a cleaner 15min fix is to take the bulb out

Fuel light is flashing? I didnt know they did that! LOL, Guess I never let it get low enough or maybe it just doesnt work...

But yeah, sounds like a classic case of the fuel level sending unit. Since you have to drop the tank, run it until its almost outta gas. ALOT easier to work with without an extra 100 lbs or so of fuel in it, haha.
Good luck

Wish it were so simple for me. As good as a piece of tape is it won't fix how crappy my rodeo is driving right now. It's in limp mode, which means it has no power, sounds like I gave an exhaust leak, drives like crap and I don't think I'm getting over 15mpg.
Found one off eBay that is oem, or so they say.
Will see what happens.

I'm not sure if and/or how the wrong signal of the fuel sending unit influences the whole injection system, but when mine went it was the only code in the system and the car was running great with actually better mileage. Now an exhaust leak will make your mileage go down to sea level, every time I got one I barely make 15mpg, fix it and back up to 19-20 right away!

I Had The Same Problem Years Ago, Fuel Sending Unit Is Gone Unless You Like Trying To Guess How Much Fuel You Have And Engine Dying On You Just Replace It With A New Fuel Pump Costly But Will Save You A Lot Of Headaches.

Fuel sending unit was replaced and it's like a new car. It almost feels like a sports car compared to how it was.

Replaced my sending unit with a $30 job on ebay and it is working fine. Highly worth it.
