Fuel pump not pumping - no start
After replacing my fuel sending unit two weeks ago, my car died yesterday. Thinking that I had a blocked fuel filter, I went to tackle that this morning. New inline filter, and nothing.
So, I pull the fuse for the radio, so I can possibly hear the fuel pump, and nada. I swap relays from the AC to the Fuel Pump, nothing. I check the Fuel Pump fuse, still intact. Well, I call the local Honda Stealership, since they are close, and there are NO Isuzu dealers (or remnants) around, and find out that they have to order a fuel pump, and that he can offer me a discount down to $357 something for it. I told him I would get back to him later today, if I needed it.
I get online, and lo and behold, several places have them, from $107 from an eBay store in CA, to a place called Rock Auto (bosch and carter at $383 and $227 respectively). I jumped in and ordered the Carter, with the same warranty as the Bosch, and its on its way, but I am still not 100 % sure if this is what's needed. My task today is to remove the tank (once again-new FSU two weeks ago), and see if its getting the proper voltage.
UPDATE
OK. SO, no fuel from the pump when I pull the line at the fuel filter and crank it over. Is there a safety valve or something that would permit this from working, if the pump is NOT the problem? I know nothing about modern pressurized fuel systems. Any suggestions or comments?

I am no Isuzu mechanic, just very mechanical as I have had 87 different cars since I was 16. Heres a thought. Unplug the fuel pump relay. The relay may have 5 posts but actually only four are used. Bypass it to check to see if your fuel pump circuit is good. If you look at the relay, most of the time how they operate is on the side or top. Basically they are a switch. Give the coil 12V+ and the other end 12V- and whatever you feed the post will flow through to the out post. When you lose the 12V + or - the switch goes back the the post that is not used. In my case, (2001 v6 3.2), the fuse box is located on the pass. fender and the 2 control posts are on the outsides while the fuel pump and fuse posts are front to back from standing in front of the passenger axle. If i connect these two post with lets say a paper clip then I can hear the pump run or visually see it if I pull the filter hose. This would at least tell you if the fuel pump is working and if it has a good fuse. Now wether the fuel pump relay is working or getting a signal is a different story.
