Front 4wd actuator not working.
Hi Peeps - our 09 Rodeo Denver 3.0 auto's 4H and 4L has never worked since we got it. 135k miles. I've had it up on stands. Always have the rear wheels going. I've had the transfer actuator off and can see that rotating fine and hear this working when 2H, 4H & 4L selected. I've done the three button reset a number of times. On occasion I've had the Front left wheel going also but not the front right. I think these have a slippy diff right? so maybe not the best doing this on axle stands all around.
The previous owner has put on an aftermarket front actuator. I've had this off and can't get this to shuttle across at all - but I can manually lever over the selector hub in the front axle and get 4wd so I'm happy mechanically. Looking at the truck from the front, the front axle selector needs to shuttle across to the right which its not doing. Is the 4wd electric circuit governed by one fuse and relay? if so I imagine these are ok because the transfer actuator is working. If not, where are these? I'd like to power up the front actuator with it out of the axle remotely - can anyone tell me which pins are power and earth? I'll also check the cable and connection down to the front actuator. Many thanks.
