Hi everyone. I have a 2001 isuzu Rodeo , 4 cylinder auto. I use to hear the fan motor cut on even after I turn off the engine, It will remain on for a couple of minutes. Now I do not hear it running anymore and to top it all off, my ac does not blow cold when I'm at a red light. Only when I get going at acertain speed the a/c gets cold again. Can anyone help me out on figuring what has happend. I'm guessing either the a/c fan went out or the relay, fuse. Any help would be appreciated .

Thanks.

does the fan run when the defrost is on? or the a.c? make sure your not low on coolant or overheating.i dont remember the 2.2l having fan problems but they didnt have headgasket problems, they alway leaked down the back drivers side of the engine ,an also occasionally thermostats would hang open.other words any kind of cooling fan problem were the cause of somthing else going on.

I had this same problem with a 2001 Rodeo, 3.2 V6. I replaced the fuses without luck, bought a new electric fan only to find that wasnt coming on either. Then my AC went out completely. I bought a used AC compressor and this solved all the problems. The fan now works wonderfully and I have cold air again!! Hope this helps out.

You might want to check your air compressor. Thats what the problem is usually is when there is no clod air. But as far as the fan, I would take off the blade and make sure that the shaft it sits on is clean and that there is nod a short in the wiring. Also chack and make sure that your radiator is running fine. I know that on mine the noise you hear after the engine is shut off sometimes is the radeator not the fan blade turning. But it may be something different on the 01.Edited by: Nick6147
