I was getting ready to pull the engine on my 98 Rodeo (32.L with manual tranny) and when I consult my "Mitchel on Demand" repair data it instructs you to remove the transmission assembly prior to removing the engine. Does this sound correct to anyone?

You have to remember that you are getting what you asked for.....removing just the engine. They won't say what is easier to do, just the mandatory components to accomplish the task at hand. You can pull the whole engine/trans or just the engine, or just the trans. I suggest you look at how difficult the trans is to unhook: ie: electrical harness removal, clutch linkage, crossmember, etc; Never done it to a Rodeo so I can't suggest best way. Good luck Edited by: atfdmike
