I have a ’96 Rodeo, 3.2L V6. Recently, for no apparent
reason, it has been blowing a fuse which causes the engine to shut down. The
fuse is the CB-3 fuse (Engine Device), 15 amp, in the interior fuse block. I
have tried a number of things with no luck.

In my wiring diagram it shows this fuse is directly
connected to the Ignition Control Module and the Electronic Control Module.
Beyond that I don’t know more. I have noticed that when the fuse blows, when
the key is turned to ACC, the Check Engine and Check Transmission lights do not
come on.

There is nothing consistent about the fuse blowing. It could
happen twice a day, or once every two or more days. There is nothing particular
going on when it blows other than the fact that you are driving down the road.

I have had it at two different shops and none of the
mechanics could find the cause. I have also tried searching the internet with
no luck.

Has anyone seen this situation? Or, have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

John
