bluecollar needs help 99 rodeo
#1
Have a 99 rodeo 4cyl manual (98kmiles). Bought it used. it has been a good work suv.Three weeks ago battery light came out and Ihadthe battery and alt changed. A week ago it would not startat a worksite. Looked at the fuses and the second top fuse from l to r (fuse box on the left side of the dboard) of the top ten-fuse row burned. I replaced it with a 25Amp and did ok. Yesterday the suv stopped cold on my way to a worksite. Yep, the same fuse had burned. I replaced w/ a 30 amp and went on my way but suspect it will burn again. What is this fuse for? I don't have a manual. Could it be a short?Any guidance will be appreciated.

don't put fuses of higher amperage in a lower amperage spot or you could find where that short is and damage the wiring harness right along with it, figure out what fuse it is and e-mail me back and I'll try to help you

Thank you mastertech. It was the 15A ignition control fuse. I took the rodeo to the mechanic and he changed an "ignition relay" but it kept shutting down. His diagnosis is that the computer may have gone kaput andthis whole things appears to be as resultof changing the alternator..possible? who knows..I need it for work so hpe to have it back in a couple of days...I'll keep postings. Thanks again.

ya know the computer is pretty much the first thing to get blamed when a mech gets lost or confused i highly doubt that it is your problem I would seek another opinion as the pcm's "computers" in these isuzus are not typically problematic it is most likely a short in the harness rubbed or pinched wire something of that sort
