So I have had this car for 1 year bought with 64,000 miles. Run fine for the first 8 months. Now for the past 4 months ive had nothing but trouble.

Check engine light came on was the TPS. Changed that ran fine.
Check engine light came on was the EGR valve changed that was okay for a week. No light came on but it idles weird but drives okay most of the time but 3-4 times a week it will start to idle low and then up like it wants to die and sometimes it does. It does not do this all the time one day it will run fine the next I cant drive it unless I want to two foot it to keep it running. This past week engine light came on again which is why I made the appointment at the dealer.

I have taken it to 2 shops (one changed the EGR and checked the idle air control which was fine) and the other said go to the dealer because its throwing some driver code?

Anyone had this problem? I have already paid out about 600.00 trying to fix this with no luck. Have appointment with the dealer end of this week. Im tired of paying and not getting it fixed.

Can anyone help?

Go to autozone and get the check engine light codes read. They will do it for free. Then post the code numbers here. That should help with diagnosing.

see what codes are in the pcm, if has lean bank on o2 sensors on either bank 1 or 2 the look for an intake gasket leaking, could be the problem

Went and had the codes read. I have set codes for the following:

PO101 -- MAF system
PO507 -- IAC too high

A previous shop had replaced the IAC and it did not correct the issue.

Bought a can of ether and sprayed around vacuum lines with no change in idle speed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

the code code p0101 MAF Sensor can cause a false code P0507 is the mass air flow sensor is not giving the correct reading the pcm doesn't know where to set the IAC, you need to know how much air flow is at idle if 3.9g- 4.2g at 900rpms it is ok, if not look at a possible bad MAF sensor or wiring going to it

Try cleaning the MAF sensor. When you pull it out look at the intake manifold side of it and should see a wire on each side of it. They just look like little silver bare wires. Use some MAF cleaner (available at auto parts stores) and CAREFULLY make sure the wires are clean. Might work or might not, but its cheaper to try that first then buy another MAF.

Replaced MAF, reset the codes and it ran fine for a day. Started doing the same thing again and this time no engine light is on.. So I dont know what else to do.

Any ideas?

i would start looking for wiring harness problems, with it running try grabbing the harness as it curves around the air box, near the power steering reservoir, that bend there contains alot of splices, that do break often with engine movement over time.if there is a problem there you will notice the idle changes or even stalls also so try unhooking the blue black an green connectors under the power steering reservoir an cleaning the terminals with electrical cleaner an even adding die-electric grease to help aid from water an corrosion, sounds like the pcm is loosing control of the iac motor, also check for grounds on the intake near the battery,on the sides of the fenders.the only problems ive seen with idle on rodeos,is HARNESS,POWER STEERING PSI SWITCH,AN INTAKE GASKETS.sometimes the iac motor itself, but you already replaced that.

I just wanted to add, we had a similar problem with idleing where it would die down and pick up again and the dealer replaced the wiring harness. We haven't had the problem since.
