My 97 Rodeo recently starting 'knocking' constantly. When I opened the hood it sounds like it's coming from behind a cover that I am assuming houses a belt. Being that I know very little about engines, I did not chance taking anything apart to investigate.

Has anyone experienced this with their Rodeo? If so, any suggestions on fixing?

Thanks,

Matt

possibly the timing belt tensioner has collasped, the tensioneres are hydraulic, when they go bad the oil leaks out causing the assembly to slap against the engine block, get it looked at quickly.
