I'm trying to help out my father with his 97 rodeo, but being that I live and PA and him in TX I can't go and take a look at it. So I've been trying my best over the phone.

I was able to solve the issue with his idling and stalling but now I'm lost with the other...

97 rodeo V6 w/ 179,238 miles

Here is the issue, he is having a voltage issue with the truck. he would complain that the trucks voltage would drop when he would accelerate causing the a/c to cut off. Now I did some research and did find that it was designed to cut the alternator when under load to operate more efficient something along those lines.

With the understanding of that we are now lost on way the a/c at times does not come back on causing in to pull over and turn off the truck for a while then restart for the a/c to work again. Also when the truck is just idling the voltage meter shows is around 10 volts and with that the a/c is not working. and ever so often it will return to 14v and the a/c will start running again.

Before asking me he about this he had the battery and alternator replaced with no luck. So what else could cause the drop in voltage when it is just idling or cruising around? Could a simple tune be needed?
