Hello All.I just joined the site because im picking up a 97 rodeo for my wife in the morning.its a 4 cyl 5-speed with new tires and alot of new parts.looks great inside and out.it has 128000 miles.ive never owned one and dont know anything about them,so my question is what kind of service other owners have had with them.im also curious about what kind of gas mileage i can expect..thanks

 

To me the non American Isuzu trucks and cars are hard to kill. The gas milage isn''t much different for the V6 and I4 so i just perfer the V6. I always wondered why did they put a 2.2 ,I4 i the Rodeo when they had a 2.6 in there pick up. But i guess it comes to power. I have a 98'' Which came with the 205 HP engine. My 93 Pick up 2.6 came with l lot less power but towing and gearling was adaquite, until u try and drive over 75 miles per hour. Gas mileage is beter then most trucks in that it is consistent. The worst mpg i ever got in the Isuzu was 17 mpg. my chevy could be as low as 8 mpg. I here people complaning about 16 mpg but when you are use to getting 8, 19 mpg is heaven. One more thing, i hate when people complain about there new Isuzu trucks. The new trucks are not Isuzu''s but rebodied Chevy.Sad, but true.

 

mine has the 2.6.brought it home and powerwise i was supprised.seems smooth and so far have averaged about 27 mpg.it has a couple of bugs to work out(a couple of bad sensors)other then that its great.
