I have a 2002 Rodeo 3.2 v6 2wd. I just bought this vehicle with 120k miles.When I start the engine the starter continues to run most times from 1 to 3 seconds after I release the key. It seems to stop when the engine starts rather than when I release the key. Is this normal?

 

I have a 2003 Rodeo and yes mine does the same thing. I bought mine brand new off the lot and it has always done that. It cools off the engine.

 

jsnow09, I don't understand what you mean by "It cools off the engine".


I just don't want to be stranded somewhere and it hang up and burn up the starter. Did you have the dealer check yours out while it was under warranty?
