I HAVE A 2001 RODEO CODE PO1312 (ign module failure) changed that compression 130to155 psi on all ,changed crank sensor ,module ,its firing and fuel inj pulse appears to be electrical.Timebelt onmark .swapped coils and injectors no change.Need help pls[img]smileys/smiley19.gif[/img]

 

make sure you ONLY USE ngk iridium spark plugs,any other plug will set that code.can you actually feel it misfiring,an running bad.or is it just setting that code.the ion sence ignition modules rarely go bad.also those yrs have wiring harness go bad alot near the bend at the airbox,try twisting it there an watching the engines performance while its idling.any change in the way it runs.thats your problem.

 

also those compression specs you gave doesnt sound right.it should be all even on both banks or pretty close by couple of psi.your timing may be wrong.theres a certain way to time those engines they dont have the normal procedure as other engines

 

Also I have seen, if someone changes the plugs and gets moisture in the coil connectors it will have this code, you will not be able to see the moisture but if you measure from the ion sensor to the coils you will find a very high resistance, other wise I agree with isuzuguru, with the timing,. Is the engine running bad there is one other thing I have see that causes strange codes, esp on one bank could be a clogged cat if the vehicle has no power
