Greetings Fellow Rodeo Enthusiasts.

I have a 1998 Rodeo. (6 Cyl. 2wd) I bought it used a year ago and suddenly the headlights would start blinking randomly when parked. It appeared to be a factory alarm issue and I had a new keyless entry installed with hopes that it would solve the problem. It did not.

The new keyless entry works well; however the blinking headlights issue still exists. I was wondering if anyone else had experience this problem and how it was solved? I have tried pulling the fuse to the fcatory alarm with no success. Several people have told me that the factory alarm is tied directly into the computer and this problem can only be fixed by an Isuzu service center. I would be grateful for assistance.

Thanks for reading. "Mr Bad Wrench"

Hey Mr. Bad.

I haven't had the problem, so I really can't speak (or write as the case may be) from experience, but it seems to be somewhat common among 2nd gen Rodeo/Passport owners. So much so that it's made a FAQ. Check Topic # 26 at:

Best of luck, let us know if/when you solve it!Edited by: XR400R

Check the pins as instructed, but as you know this is a computer supported alarm system, one that I would not touch myself. You may have to live with it or take it to the dealer and rack up a 1k dollar repair bill. Sorry.

XR, Keef,

Thanks for the replies. I will see if the suggestion in the FAQs works. Either way I will post the outcome by this weekend. Thanks again for the assistance.

Whats up guys? Just wanted to let you know none of the suggestions worked out for me. It has been suggested that I have a bad ground somewhere on the car. I am going to take it to an electrical shop or dealership.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
