Question 1997 Passport Valve Cover Gasket leak

Hi,
I have a 1997 Honda Passport with the same Isuzu 3.2L V6 engine in it. Both valve cover gaskets are leaking. My mechanical skill level is moderate, as I have done several different moderatly difficult engine repairs (mostly in my Mustang).

Overall, how difficult is the job? Any pointers or tips of the trade? I have a Haynes manual (which covers the Passport and the Isuzu Rodeo) and plan on following it. It doesn't appear as if the timing belt cover and assembly need to be disturbed.

For the most part it is very easy. Remove spark plugs, remove valve cover bolts, tap on side of valve cover with a RUBBER mallet and it should pop free. You have o-rings at the base of the spark plug holes and the gasket around the edge. Can not remember if yours has the half moon at the ends. I think that was on the 2.6L if it does replace them as well. use a little RTV to hold things in place and reassemble. More of a pain in the rear moving things around to get to them but that is all.

Hope this helps.

For the most aspect it is very simple. Eliminate ignite connects, remove device protect screws, tap on aspect of device protect with a RUBBER hammer and it should pop no cost. You have o-rings at the platform of the ignite connect gaps and the gasket around the advantage. Can not keep in mind if yours has the 50 percent celestial satellite at the finishes. I think that was on the 2.6L if it does substitute them as well. use a little RTV to keep factors in position and reassemble. More of a discomfort in the back going factors around to get to them but that is it.

John,
I think you really need to read what you are posting. It makes no sense. I think you are trying to say the same thing I posted on 8/20/12. I can understand what I wrote but not what you wrote.
