I'm replacing my dead 01 rodeo sport an need help choosing what to go with.

What i picked. (Both fit my on/off-road wants an needs that why i need help choosing)
01 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Dr
01 Isuzu Rodeo Sport 2-Dr Hard Top

So if anybody else has owned or owns a cherokee or rodeo sport could you let me know the pros an cons of cherokee or rodeo sport an what i could expect to go wrong on either one. My last rodeo sport wasn't owned by me long enough to let me know what was going to need to be replaced an what was still good to go.

Thanks,
Mike

I havent owned either one but one big difference I know of is Isuzus have full frames and cherokees are unibodies. May not make a difference to you but thought I'd point it out. I was also looking at cherokees till I found that out (I prefer having a frame), also as far as I could find out no cherokees after '96 had 5 speeds, they were all automatics.

Both from my experience are pretty reliable (we've owned it since new), we've had a starter, abs pump and I want to say an intake gasket on the Rodeo the abs pump and gasket under warranty when it was maybe 2 years old.

The 98 Cherokee has had a set of brake shoes and a u-joint, bought it in 04 and this will be it's 3rd winter plowing snow for me.

Honestly either one would probably be a good choice, I can't really tell you much about the Rodeo I'm not real familiar with it. The Cherokee though is pretty much bullet proof the 4.0 and AW4 auto transmission are tough common problems are the Crank Position Sensor, Neutral Safety Switch and sagging rear leaf springs.

They were made, I think only available on the SE models or special order so they weren't real popular.

If you ask me, the real seller is the 8 cylinders to 6. Even though you do not have the full frame in the jeep, you'll have a heck of alot more power.Edited by: Nick6147

< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-</>Hello Guy i would have replyed to this earlier but for some dumb reason it's illegal to drive backwards down the highway at 65mph even if your going in the right direction but after 2-3/4 months of jail time here i am. Now i didn't buy either one since the cherokee & rodeo an 18 other vehicles were taken out by a 18-wheeler that lost control during a march 1 snow storm in my area an want through the guard rail into $80,000 in cars, but the good news is i picked up a 94 Dodge Dakota for $2,000 in almost mine condition has a 2"x3" dent in rear bumper.

Thanks for replys guys
Mike

Well dodge is a great way to go too. Very interesting about your jail time. Didn't realise that was the time you'll would have to do from a crime like that.

I was driving a 04 Pontiac GTO 6-Spd Man. an yes i drove it like i stole it. The defensive driving class is the agreement me & owner of local hertz car rental made for me to be able to rent from them again but i'm limited to pickups & vans only but i did see Dodge Ram SRT10 Truck there 500+HP 160MPH Top Speed.
