Isuzu Pickup Question
#1
Im about to buy a 92 2.3l isuzu pickup with 94k miles and i was wondering what are some common problem on these truck? I read that head gasket and valve are common problem. Also the owner said the check engine light for o2 sensor is on and after he replaced it its still on.
What might be the problem?
Thank you.

pups will play forever. very easy and cheap to maintain. to make sure its the o2 and not somethingelse take it to read the codes just to be sure.if he changed it out and it is a o2 trouble code maybe reseting the computer will reset the code. unhook the battery for awhile.

no problem. im replasing the body on my 86. ive got her stripped down to the frame and finishing up on a rearend swap with a 98 s10(so i could have rear disc brakes). right now im shopping around, online and at salvage for cheapest bodyparts that i can find.
ive been on this project for about 6 months. probably 6 more to go. doing it in my spare time and with work and then 6 kids, i dont have alot of that. lol

check the oil, making sure no water in it(if water is present black oil will have swirls of white in it, it will look like a chocolate and vinilla swirl). also open the radiator and dip a napkin down in it to be sure oil is not present in there. those are signs of blown head gasket.
check for smoke and smell from tailpipe. if it smokes prety bad something is not right and will need serviced. also pull a spark plug out and check condition on it. as long as its not dripping oil when you pull it out should be okay.

sounds good. just do your research first. youll need alot of other components like wirring harrness, computer?, motor mounts, and a matching tranny. if you want a good motor research and see if the 4.3l would fit. that is an outstanding motor. ive got a 91 s10 blazer with 4.3 anf im pushing 200,000 miles. never had a engine prblem. ive had cloged egr valve and replased the fuel pump once. but other than that its been smooth sailing with it. thats my next project, rebuilding that motor and reworking the whole truck.
