1989 Isuzu Pickup Motor Help

I have a 1989 Isuzu Pickup with a 2.6L and it needs a motor. I have been looking for one in all the boneyards in my area and can not find one. Does anyone know if I can use a different motor? Thank you for the help .

Given enough time and money you can put anything in. I have looked into swapping to a 2.8 from a trooper but would have to swap over the entire drive train and wiring harness. Having a 2.6 in mine too make a direct swap to something else not going to happen.

Thank you, I just came across a truck same year as mine. I was told the motor is good but the rest of the truck is trashed. So I am going to put it in and hope for the best.
