Tarot and Astrology Matching are two forms of prediction that deal with understanding and clearing up the same fundamental forces of the world. There is an complicated web of close relations and correspondences between Tarot and Astrology.
There are twenty-two religiously standard cards in Tarot, called the Major Arcana, and four suits of more ordinary cards, making a total of seventy-eight cards in all. These "common" cards referred to as the Minor Arcana can be additionally broken down into "royalty" and "numeric." In astrology, there are four elements linking to the four seasons, twelve zodiac signs mapping out the earth's sky and nine planets rotating around the earth.
There are four elements of Astrology that is fire, water, air and earth. They communicate correspondingly to the four psychosomatic functions described by Carl Jung as perception, sensation, thoughts and awareness. An esoteric Tarot deck also contains four suits not including the most important arcana, referred to as trumps. These suits match up to the abovementioned elements such that Wands is representative of Fire, Cups of Water, Swords of Air, and Coins of Earth. These associations are pictured, counter-clockwise, along with the four seasons.
