First I need to say I am so happy I found this web site! I just recently purchased a used 97 Rodeo. I love it! the main question I have is when I start it (mostly the first time of the day) it makes a noise like when you hold a key in the start position AFTER it starts. I am afraidof burning out the starter. Any ideas what it could be? and what can be done about it?

Thanks

Sandy

You may have the plunger of the starter getting stuck after you let the key go. Most times it is cheaper to get a new starter than to pay get a starter repaird, that is if you do it your self.

</>Thanks for the reply. I couldn't stand it any longer and had it looked at. It is a fan/ac belt. At least I know that my starter is ok.. It will be taken care of soon..
