Mechanical Question about my 1999 Amigo V6 5spd.
My 1999 Isuzu Amigo v6 5spd will sometimes act like it has no more power around 2500 rpms. I can shift into a different gear and it does the same thing around 2500 rpms. I can let off the gas and ease it on and it will still do the same thing. It does it worse when it is going up inclines but occasionally does it on flat grades. it just works itself out eventually. It's like it has something stuck somewhere, but it doesn't do it all the time. Also it has started dropping all the way to 0 rpms at red lights and stop signs. Sometimes it dies and will start right back up. Other times it just catches itself and idles right.
Anyone had this problem before or know what is possibly going on?

my first question would be if there was a check engine light on. if not then i would start looking at the most obvious problems such as vacuum leaks and fuel pressure. then i would start cleaning throttle bodies, EGR, and Idle air Control valves, oh and check the air filter to see if it is dirty. it could alternatively be a bad catalytic converter but if that was the case you would have a CEL.

Just wanted to thank everyone for help. A couple of weeks ago I cleaned the EGR valve and the throttle body and that seems to have resolved all my issues. Hopefully those problems will not arise again. I need the ole Amigo to last at least another year.
