I just purchased a 2000 Rodeo LS. It came with 1 keyless remote that doesn't work. Tried replacing batteries. Didn't help. Would like to try reprogrammingthe remote into the car but can't find "how to" instuctions. Not in owners manual. Can anyone help me out with this?

1 open drivers door

2 turn ignition to ACC then OFF 3 times

3 close then open drivers door 2 times

4 turn ignition to ACC then OFF 3 times

5 close then open drivers door

the locks should cycle at this time

6 press the lock button on the remote the locks should cycle then press the lock button on the remote again the locks should cycle

7 remove key from ignition close door

Pay close attention to step 2 and 4 turn to ACC NOT RUN

My system does exactly as described but I can't get the key fob to work . The key fob will lock and unlock the door twice right after the programing then won't work .

Many thanks
