Default Hello there

So I just picked up a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo AWD V6 for $700 with a full tank of gas.
Minor problems- broken turn signal lenses, little bits of rust, dent in the hood, nothing that affects it from getting me around.

Joined so i could ask some questions about something that just happened- the lock cylinder (where the key goes in) has detached from the door handle assembly. I was told it should be held in with a retaining pin that must've gotten loose.
I need some guidance on whether this requires a whole new handle assembly (as one shop told me, suggesting the plastic that holds the cylinder has cracked) or if I could fix this by poppin off the door panel and macguyvering something.
maybe i should post the actual problem in the appropriate forum.

pop off the door panel and figure out which size pin you need it just slides over the cylinder
