Hi to all, have just sold my mitsubishi L200 andam thinking of buying a trooper and need some advice, have my eye on two in perticular,one is a99 swb 3.0 t.d. Trieste model with 125k miles and costs 4950 (euros)the other is also a 99 swb 3.0 t.d, but is a meridian with100k miles costing 4250(euros).Problem is i've heard some horror stories about trooper engines and am wondering which is best and most reliable the 3.0 or the 3.1 and is there any yearafter which they are both ok. Any help or advice would be much appreciatedas i can well do without a costly repair or engine failure.

Hi you cant go wrong with a 4JG2 engine I did 950000kms in mine over 20 years (yes 950,000kms) it was a 1997 3.1, I wouldnt be buying a trooper with a 4JX1 engine they have had many issues with overheating historically, so if the Trooper has the 4JG2 engine and relatively low kms then do it.
