My 2000 isuzu hombre is having problems starting... first of all, the starter was replaced with a rebuilt one 6 months ago. It shouldnt be junk, but.... when I turn it over it just kind of buzzes/grinds. To my knowledge, if the starter is bad iit will just click, I could be wrong though. Any suggestions on what I should check? The starter wires are in tact... Ive knocked on the starter with a hammer... nothing works. Thanks alot...

no starter should buzz an grind.sounds like it needs another starter.since you bought an aftermarket rebuilt one it proably has a lifetime warrenty? find your receipt an check.if you got it at advance or autozone,or what ever local parts store thats in your area it proably does, that why there cheaper than dealer starters an have longer warrenties they dont last as long.just get it checked again to be sure

There could be abad ground at starter solenoid. If it's not the starter then prollyyourproblem is dueto one or several of the following:

- poor electrical connections at the battery

- failed relay

- low battery voltage
