Just purchased a '98 hombre with 219,000 mi. on it. Vehicle in fine sahpe and runs good, engine runs smooth.


There is a loud whine coming from the engine. It is in or on the motor, don't believe the trans is involved. Does it in nuetral.


The whine is constant and I can't seem to find anything that changes it. It does get louder and higher pitched with acceleration.


Anyone know what it might be or if this was an issue with these trucks? 2.2l engine.
