transmission check light
#1
can anyone help!! recently had heads skimmed on 95 trooper, all rebuilt fine, drove around for 2 hours with no trouble, then trans check light came on, this caused the trooper to slow down and loose power, also caused engine to get hot, topped upauto gearbox oil, but made no differance, now when ever it changes to second gear the light comes on and same problems, Has anyone come across this before? Any suggestions would be most welcome!

WHEN THE TRANS LIGHT COMES ON THE TCM GOES INTO A BACK UP MODE,AN TAKES OFF IN 3RD GEAR,AN MAIN LINE PSI INCREASES TO PREVENT ANY SLIPPING,GET THE CODE CHECKED ...PROABLY SOMETHING UNHOOKED FROM THE HEAD JOB.OR LOSE OF RPM SIGNAL TO THE TCM.I WOULD TAKE IT TO YOUR ISUZU DEALER,FOR THE PROBLEM LET THEM DIAG IT.ANYONE ELSE MAY NOT HAVE THE PROPER INFO ABOUT.ESP TRYING TO PULL CODES FROM IT

I have a similar problem in my Rodeo. Whenever I shift into "L" the check trans light comes on and I get the same behavior (starts in 3rd). If I turn it off and turn it back on it resets and acts fine while in "D". It seems to be some type of tranny electrical switch malfunction.
