How do you go about trouble shooting if your power steering pump is going out. When i drive and when 4 wheel drive in mud it feels like no problem and drives awesome, but when i get to red light or slow down to almost stop i cant turn my steering wheel at all..i really have to go hard core to turn that wheel! Any thoughts or am i on the right path with thinking it might be the power steering pump??

either the power steering pump is going bad, or if you have a steering gear box that could be bad as well. If you know that you don't have a gear box then most likely you have a burnt up steering pump. Hope this helps you out.
