99 Amigo Idle Issue
#1
Ok, so I just bought this car and a day later its having issues, like wtf but anyway. Well ok, so sometimes when I start it it will idle up to 2000 rpm's but in a matter of about a minute it goes to normal. Other times after its been driving for awhile and I come to a complete stop, it starts surging, itll go down to like 200 rpms and surge up to 1000. Earlier today at the gas station I filled it up and then the car wouldnt Idle at all, Finally after I let it sit for about a minute or so it started up and idle but was surging.
Any Ideas?
I appreciate any help you can give
Thanks

it is your intake manifold gasket plain and simple don,t waste alot of money changing other things just save up enough money and have it done.i wasted alot of money changing parts out till i went to this web sight and people keep saying the manifold gasket had it done and everything is good for 7000 miles now.

I agree with the IAC becuase if it were an intake concern and/or intake gasket concern the problem will be present and constant at all times.
All IAC's are generic in operation and suspect to a lot of carbon. Sometimes they stick and other times they don't. You computer is trying to adjust idle but the IAC is not responding correctly.
However, here is a simple test... Unplug the IAC. If your vehicle won't idle, just apply more right-foot. If the high idel never returns unles by a fat right-foot then the concern is the IAC.
