Im sure it could use a good tune up, It has been along time, but again was running fine prior to poof. Is the mass air flow sensor the thing that is on top of the air filter housing?

also check the timing,if you havent changed the belt recently.its due right now.if it breaks it WILL bend valves

I disconnected the mass air flow and nothing. It wouldnt even let me give it enough gas to keep it running.

CHECK FOR FAULTY FUEL PSI NEXT,YOU WILL HAVE TO TAP IN THE FUEL LINE ,THE EASIEST PLACE IS AT THE TOP REAR OF THE INTAKE.THAT THE PRESSURE LINE.SEE IF YOU HAVE GOOD FUEL PSI SPEC IS 50PSI FOR INJECTED MODELS

Have you checked the carburetors? How about the radaiators and other nearby components?
