Here is a question someone may know the answer to.
I recently bought a Izuzu with a 4ZE1 motor, however over here in Australia it did not come out with O2 sensor or catalytic converter but seeing that I am not a full on environmental vandal I am in the process of sorting that out. I have fitted a O2 sensor into the exhaust system but need to figure out how it wires into the ECU. As the vehicle did not come with a O2 sensor the local dealer can't help in this regard. I now that in the US they where fitted with a O2 and cat but whether the ECU is the same I don't know.
The ECU details are: I-Tec module (made by Hitachi) 8971127490 EPC-E020 A1 7821
Thanks for any and all replies and just for looking

I wonder if just by adding the CAT and no further mods that you can sleep well at night doing your part for the enviornment just by doing the afterburn.

The big question would be to test the output from the tailpipe and compare that to one of us septic tanks in the US who have to have that tested every year.

I would think that trying to add the O2 sensor w/o the other mods in the North American vehicles, you may do more harm than good. Loose driveability w/o gaining improvement in tailpipe emissions.

If you have some place that can test the tailpipe emissions and post them here, we can compare them to like vehicles here in the US and I am very curious to see the difference.
