Under fairly heavy acceleration in 2nd gear, the car does not accelerate smoothly it almost feels like the computer is rapidly changin its mind about how much fuel it wants to dump in the engine.

I am now beginning to feel this at higher speeds as well in 3rd gear.

Also when I am climbing a steep hill in 2nd gear, I push the accelerator, and the car doesn''t really respond (I am not lugging the motor), and then downshifts to first and of course the engine screams and the car flies up the hill. This is really annoying. It should have plenty of torque in 2nd gear to climb any hill, wihtout having to wind it out in 1st.

Any thoughts?

PS I hate drive by wire throttle.

 

I had a local shop do an intake/trhottle body cleaning, and they also found a hole in the exhaust which they repaired. I haven''t really driven it alot yet, but it seems much better. Throttle response is much improved, and surging is about 90% better.


I like my ax a little better now.

 

Hey man, Im experiencing just about the same symptoms, but I think its just the transmission messing up. How do you know if its the transmission or that the intake and throttle body needs to be cleaned?
